Huma’s American (Old Tavern) Beef Steaks - along with single-pot Spanish rice and beans with carrots and potatoes: ✨💕👩🍳
- 1 cup long-grain white rice |
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, boiled, drained and rinsed |
- 2 medium carrots, diced |
- 2 medium potatoes, diced |
- 1 onion, diced |
- 2 cloves garlic, minced |
- 1 teaspoon cumin |
- 1 teaspoon paprika |
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano |
- 2 cups vegetable broth |
- Salt and pepper to taste |
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional) |
-1tbs Cajun seasoning |
Ingredients: for Roasted Beef Steaks with Rosemary and Garlic |
- 2 beef steaks (such as ribeye or sirloin) |
- 4 cloves garlic, minced |
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped |
- Salt and pepper to taste |
- 2 tablespoons olive oil |
- 1tbs Cajun seasoning |
-2 tbs raw papaya paste |
-1 tsp All Spice Seasoning |
Instructions:- |
1. In a large baking pot or deep skillet, pour some olive oil. Add the diced onions, garlic, carrots, and potatoes. |
2. Add the rice, cumin, paprika, and oregano to the pot. Stir to coat the rice and vegetables with the spices. Add Cajun seasoning. |
3. Pour in the vegetable broth. |
4. Stir in the boiled black beans. Season with salt and pepper to taste. |
5. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired. |
6. Cook in preheat oven at 360 degrees for 1 hr or until the rice and vegetables are cooked. You can put this in the oven at the same time along with the steaks on the upper rack |
Instructions: for Roasted Beef Steaks with Rosemary and Garlic |
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). |
2. In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, salt, pepper, papaya pasteand olive oil to create a paste. |
3. Place the beef steaks on a baking sheet or in a roasting pan. Rub the garlic and rosemary mixture onto both sides of each steak, ensuring they are evenly coated. |
4. Once the steaks are seasoned, sprinkle cajun seasoning on both sides along with all spice seasoning again on both sides nicely ! Place them in the preheated oven and roast for about 25-45 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 130-135°F (55-57°C). |
5. Once done, remove the steaks from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. |
