Huma’s Happy Talbiya

Ingredients:-
For the Talbiya:
- 1 cup cracked wheat
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 4 cups water or milk (or a combination of both)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1-2 tablespoons honey or sugar (optional, to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
For Garnishing:
- Fresh figs, sliced
- Dates, pitted and sliced
- Honey (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions:-
1. Rinse the Grains:
- Rinse the cracked wheat under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
2. Combine Ingredients:
- In a large pot, combine the rinsed cracked wheat, rolled oats, water or milk, and salt
3. Cook:
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
4. Simmer:
- Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cracked wheat is tender and the mixture has thickened to your desired consistency. Add more water or milk if you prefer a creamier texture.
5. Sweeten:
- Stir in honey or sugar and cinnamon if desired, mixing well to combine.
6. Prepare the Garnish:
- Slice fresh figs and dates into bite-sized pieces. Roughly chop or slice the almonds.
7. Serve the Talbiya:
- Remove the Talbiya from heat and serve warm in bowls
8. Garnishing:
- Top each bowl with the sliced figs, dates, and almonds. For an extra touch of sweetness, drizzle a little honey over the top.
9. Enjoy:
- Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious and nutritious Talbiya
