- 1 lb qeema (minced meat - beef or lamb) |
- 1 onion, finely chopped |
- 2 cloves garlic, minced |
- 1 tsp ginger, minced |
- 1 tsp cumin powder |
- 1 tsp coriander powder |
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder |
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste) |
- Salt to taste |
- Store-bought puff pastry dough (1 sheet) |
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash) |
Instructions:- |
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. |
2. In a pan, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until translucent. |
3. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and cook for another minute until fragrant. |
4. Add the qeema (minced meat) to the pan and cook until it's browned and cooked through. |
5. Add the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the qeema mixture. Stir well to combine all the spices. |
6. Roll out the store-bought puff pastry dough on a floured surface and cut it into 8 equal squares. |
7. Place a spoonful of the qeema mixture in the center of each puff pastry square. |
8. Fold the pastry over the filling to create a square envelope shape. Use a fork to crimp the edges and seal the patties. |
9. Place the qeema patties on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg wash. |
10. Top each patty with a halved cherry tomato. |
11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and cooked through. |
12. Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. |
