Huma’s Deep Fried Wild Caught Herring Fish ✨💕👩🍳
- 1 whole wild-caught herring fish (about 2 lbs), cleaned and gutted |
- 1 tbsp fish masala |
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste |
- Salt and pepper to taste |
- Juice of 1/2 lemon |
- A few fresh mint leaves |
- Oil for deep frying |
Instructions:- |
1. In a bowl, mix fish masala, ginger garlic paste, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and torn mint leaves to create a marinade. |
2. Rub the marinade generously over the cleaned herring fish, making sure to coat it evenly. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. |
3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pan for deep frying. |
4. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the marinated herring fish in the oil. Fry the fish until it is golden brown and crispy on both sides, usually for about 5-7 minutes per side depending on the size of the fish. |
5. Once fried, remove the fish from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. |
6. Serve the deep-fried wild-caught herring fish hot with a side of lemon wedges and mint leaves for garnish. Enjoy your flavorful and crispy dish! |
