Huma’s Village style Turaii Chicken Recipe for 5 People: ✨💕👩🍳
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces |
- 500g turaii (ridge gourd), no need to peel or chop. Just steam it in a steamer or microwave and mash 😉 |
-2 sliced onions |
- 1 cup cooking oil |
- 2 green chilies, chopped |
-1 cup fried onions (if you don’t have fried onions cut 2 onions, slice them, fry and use it) |
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish |
-1 big tomato chopped or few cherry tomatoes |
-1 tbs mix sabut garam masala |
#### For the Chicken Marinade: |
- 1 tbsp coriander powder |
- 1 tsp cumin powder |
- 1 tsp red chili powder |
- Salt to taste |
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste |
Instructions:- |
1. Marinate the chicken pieces with turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, salt, and ginger garlic paste. Allow it to marinate for 30 minutes. |
2. In a pan, heat 1/2 cup of oil and cook the marinated chicken until it is fully cooked. Add fried onions, sabut garam masala, and some chopped tomatoes and cook for another 5-10 min. Set it aside. |
3. Place the chopped turaii in a microwave-safe dish, sprinkle a little water, cover, and steam in the microwave for 10-15 minutes, or until the turaii is soft. |
4. Remove the steamed turaii from the microwave, mash it using a fork or potato masher, and set it aside. |
5. In a separate pan, heat the remaining oil. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown. |
6. Add the mashed turaii and cooked chicken to the pan with onions. Mix well and cook for another 5-7 minutes on medium heat, stirring occasionally. |
7. Adjust salt and spices according to your taste. Cook until the flavors blend well. |
8. Garnish the dish with chopped green chilies and fresh coriander leaves. |
9. Serve the delicious Turaii Chicken hot with rice or bread of your choice. Enjoy your meal! |
