Huma’s yummy crispy Saffron Jalebi for 6 people ✨💕🕊️
- 1 cup all-purpose flour |
- 1 tablespoon cornflour |
- 1 teaspoon saffron strands |
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder |
- 1 cup sugar |
- 1/2 cup water |
- 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast |
- Oil for frying |
- Sliced pistachios for garnishing |
Instructions:- |
1. In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornflour, saffron strands, cardamom powder, and active dry yeast. Add enough water to make a smooth batter. The batter should be of pouring consistency. Let the batter rest for about 1-2 hours in a warm place until it ferments and rises. |
2. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water to make a sugar syrup. Boil the mixture until it reaches a one-string consistency. Add a few saffron strands for flavor. |
3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Pour the fermented batter into a squeeze bottle or piping bag with a small nozzle. |
4. Squeeze the batter in a spiral shape into the hot oil. Fry until the jalebis are crispy and golden brown. Remove them from the oil and drain excess oil on a paper towel. |
5. Dip the fried jalebis into the warm sugar syrup, ensuring they are coated well. Let them soak for a few minutes. |
6. Garnish the saffron jalebis with sliced pistachios before serving. Enjoy these delicious crispy jalebis with your family and friends! |
