Huma’s Idli & Sambhar Recipe: made with oats instead of rice : super healthy and low carb dinner ✨💕👩🍳
#### Ingredients: for #### Sambhar Recipe ✨ |
- 1/4 cup moong dal - dhuli |
- Sambhar vegetables (e.g., drumsticks, carrots, bhindi, brinjal, tomato) |
- 2 tablespoons sambhar masala-any brand. I used Brahmin’s Sambhar masala |
- 1 tablespoon desi ghee |
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds |
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds |
- A handful of curry leaves 😋 |
#### Ingredients: for ### Oats Idli Recipe: |
- 2 cups oats |
- 4 egg whites |
1 cup grated carrots |
- Salt to taste |
- Idli making moulds |
- Water for steaming |
Instructions:- |
#### Sambhar Recipe ✨#### Sambhar Recipe ✨ |
1. Wash and soak the moong dal for 30 minutes. |
2. In a pressure cooker, add the soaked moong dal, sambhar vegetables, sambhar masala, and enough water. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles until the dal is soft and vegetables are cooked. |
3. In a separate pan, heat desi ghee. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Let them splutter. |
4. Add this tadka to the cooked sambhar and mix well. |
5. Adjust the consistency by adding water as needed and simmer for a few minutes. |
6. Your delicious moong dal sambhar is ready to be served. |
#### Instructions: for ### Oats Idli Recipe: |
1. Grind the oats into a fine powder. |
2. In a bowl, mix the powdered oats, egg whites, grated carrots, and salt. Adjust the consistency with water to make a thick batter. |
3. Grease the idli moulds with a little oil and pour the batter into them. |
4. In a steamer or a large pot with a steaming rack, bring water to a boil. |
5. Place the idli moulds in the steamer and steam for about 15-20 minutes or until the idlis are cooked through. |
6. Once done, remove the idlis from the moulds carefully. |
7. Serve the oats idlis hot with coconut chutney on the side. |
