Huma’s homemade Garlic & Olive Focaccia bread ✨💕👩🍳 I bet you will never eat store bought Focaccia if you make this. And it’s super easy than thought of. Total active human effort time: 20 min only ✨
- 4 cups all-purpose flour |
- 1 packet instant dry yeast |
- 1 1/2 cups warm milk |
- 1 egg |
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar or honey |
- 1/4 cup olive oil |
- 1 teaspoon salt |
- Fresh rosemary |
- Garlic cloves - 8 |
- Cherry tomatoes - 5 |
- Olives, sliced |
- Extra olive oil for drizzling |
Instructions:- |
1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and instant dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy. |
2. Add the egg, flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms. |
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. |
4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it with plastic wrap or foil or wet towel, and let it proof overnight on room temperature. |
5. The next morning, take the dough and start the second proofing as below steps. ( #6 to #12). This is super important if you want that store like bread 🍞 🥰 |
6. Gently fold the dough over itself a few times without breaking the gluten to redistribute the air bubbles. Cover again and keep aside for 30 min. |
7. Repeat the folding process two more times, proofing for 30 minutes after each fold. |
8. Now place the dough on the oiled rectangle baking sheet. |
9. Cover again and let it proof for another 30 minutes. This is your final proofing ✨ |
10. Use your fingers to make indentations all over the dough. This is the super fun step I love ❤️ |
11. While the dough is proofing, In a bowl add some olive oil along with cherry tomatoes and garlic cloves. Microwave for 2 min or until the garlic is little soft. |
12. Drizzle this olive oil over the dough and place the garlic cloves, rosemary, cherry tomatoes, and olives. Use your creativity and cut onions and pieces of shimla mirch (bell pepper) also if you like to top it !!! |
13. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and crispy from the top. |
14. Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack slightly before slicing and serving. |
Enjoy your flavorful homemade Focaccia bread with rosemary, garlic, cherry tomatoes, and olives after this thorough proofing process and I’m sure you will never buy from the store 😋✨👩🍳💕 |
