Friday couldn’t be better after a beautiful productive week at work … Feels such a contrast from making hard core technical codes to making scrumptious and soft koftas in my kitchen….🤔👩💻💻👩🍳🥘
- 500g minced meat (beef or lamb)
- 6 hard-boiled eggs
- 1 onion, finally chopped
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
*For the Gravy:*
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1 tbsp kewra water (screw pine essence)
- 1 tbsp rose water
- Fresh coriander leaves chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:- |
1. In a large bowl, mix together the minced meat, onion, ginger-garlic paste, cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Knead well to form a smooth mixture.
2. Divide the meat mixture into 6 equal portions. Flatten each portion in the palm of your hand to form a disc. Place a hard-boiled egg in the center of each disc and shape the meat mixture around the egg to form a ball.
3. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the meatballs until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and keep aside.
4. In a separate pan, heat some oil and add the chopped onions. Fry until golden brown. Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for another minute.
5. Add the chopped tomatoes, cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well and cook until the tomatoes are soft and pulpy.
6. Add the yogurt to the tomato mixture and stir well. Cook for another 5 minutes.
7. Add the kewra water and rose water to the gravy and mix well.
8. Add the fried meatballs to the gravy and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
