- 1 kg boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces |
- 1 cup thick yogurt |
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice |
- 4 cloves garlic, minced |
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated |
- 2 teaspoons garam masala |
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin |
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander |
- 1 teaspoon turmeric |
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder |
- Salt to taste |
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish) |
- Lemon wedges (for serving) |
Instructions:- |
1. In a large bowl, mix together yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, salt, and vegetable oil. |
2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight for the flavors to meld. |
3. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Skewer the marinated chicken pieces onto metal or soaked wooden skewers. |
4. Place the skewers on a baking tray lined with foil or parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred on the edges. You can also cook the chicken on a grill for that authentic smoky flavor. |
5. Once cooked, remove the skewers from the oven or grill. Sprinkle with chopped coriander leaves. |
6. Serve hot with lemon wedges, naan bread, mint chutney, and onion salad for a complete restaurant-style experience. |
