- 500g boneless chicken, cut into pieces |
- 1 cup premade fried onions |
- 2 to 3 medium-sized tomatoes, steamed and puréed |
- 4-6 green peppers, whole |
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced |
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated |
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust according to your spice preference) |
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds |
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder |
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder |
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste) |
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder |
- Salt to taste |
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish |
- Cooking oil for frying and cooking |
Instructions:- |
1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter for a few seconds. |
2. Add the chicken pieces to the pan and stir-fry them until they are lightly browned on all sides. |
3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan. Sauté for a minute until they become aromatic. |
4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for another minute. |
5. Add the steamed and puréed tomatoes to the pan. Mix well and cook for a couple of minutes. |
6. Now, add the green peppers and chopped green chilies to the pan. Sauté for a couple of minutes until the peppers are slightly tender. |
7. Cover the pan and let the chicken cook on medium heat until it is tender and cooked through. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. |
8. Crush the premade fried onions and add them to the pan. Mix well to combine all the flavors. |
9. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the flavors meld together. |
10. Sprinkle garam masala powder and give it a final stir. |
11. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. |
