- 1 bell pepper, diced (shimla mirch) |
- green chillies - 4 to 6 |
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream (optional) |
- 4 tablespoons of butter or oil |
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds (divide into two) |
- 1 teaspoon of coriander powder (dhaniya) |
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala |
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder (haldi) |
- 1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder (laal mirch) |
- 1/2 teaspoon whole black pepper (kali mirch) |
- Salt to taste |
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish (hara dhaniya) |
Instructions:- |
1. Dump the whole onions after peeling in a pressure cooker along with green chilies, zeera, kaali mirch and some water. |
2. Pressure cook on medium flame for 2-3 whistles or until the onions are tender. |
3. Once tender purée the onions in a blender. |
4. Cut the paneer pieces in cubes and place them in an airfryer along with diced shimla mirch. Sprinkle some oil on it. If you don’t have an airfryer you can sauté the paneer cubes and shimla mirch in a pan also. No problem !! |
5. Heat 2 tablespoon of butter or oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Add 1/2 tsp of the cumin seeds and let them splutter. Then add the pureed onions and sauté for 2 min. Add red chilly powder, dhaniya powder, haldi powder and garam masala powder. Stir for another 5-8 min |
6. Add the ginger garlic paste to the pan and sauté for another 2-3 minutes. |
7. Add in the diced bell pepper and paneer cubes and sauté for 3-4 minutes until it softens slightly. |
8. Add a splash of water if needed and cook covered on very low flame for about 5 min until the butter/ oil separates. |
9. Pour in the heavy cream and mix it gently with the paneer gravy. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes. This is optional step if you don’t have cream you can skip this step or add some milk if you like. |
10. Garnish with more butter and hara dhaniya |
