Huma’s French Tarts - using Indian milk burfi, apples, apricots, and blueberries
- Pre made Puff pastry sheets - 6 squares (4 x4) |
- Milk burfi - 5 or 6 pieces (you can use plain khoya or kalakand also) |
- 1 apple, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced |
- 1/2 cup fresh sliced apricots (Khubani) |
- 1/2 cup fresh blueberries |
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash) |
- Sugar (for sprinkling) |
Instructions:- |
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. |
2. Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them into squares or rectangles, depending on your preference. Place them on the prepared baking sheet. |
3. Spread a layer of milk burfi on each puff pastry square, leaving a small border around the edges. |
4. Arrange the sliced apples on top of the milk burfi on some of the pastry squares. On others, sprinkle some sliced apricots and fresh blueberries. Use your imagination to make beautiful pieces ✨💕👩🍳 |
5. Using a pastry brush, lightly brush the edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg to create a golden crust when baked. |
6. Place the prepared tarts in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. |
7. Once baked, remove the tarts from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. |
8. Before serving, sprinkle the tarts with a bit of sugar for added sweetness and a touch of sparkle. |
