- 2 lbs boneless chicken, cut into bite-size pieces |
- 1/4 cup corn flour - but save 1 tbs for gravy |
- Salt and pepper, to taste |
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil |
- 2 tablespoons ginger garlic paste |
- Vegetable oil, for deep frying |
- 1/4 cup soy sauce |
- 1/4 cup chili garlic sauce |
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar |
- 2 tablespoons ketchup |
- 1/4 cup brown sugar |
- 1/4 cup water |
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds |
- 4 green onions, sliced |
Instructions:- |
1. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper, then mix in the ginger garlic paste. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. |
2. Dust the marinated chicken with corn flour until well coated. |
3. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). In batches, carefully place the chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy. This should take about 3-4 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels. |
4. In a separate pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add the soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, rice vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, and water. Stir well and simmer. Add 1tbs of diluted corn flour to combine into a thick sauce. |
5. Once the sauce has thickened, add the fried chicken to the pan, and toss to coat with the sauce. If it’s too thick please add few drops of water if you like !! |
6.Stir fry together for an additional 2-3 minutes, ensuring the chicken is well coated and the sauce clings to the crispy coating. |
7. Remove from heat, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and garnish with green onions. |
8. Serve immediately. |
